If you walk along the coast of Ireland you might be luckily enough to see whales passing. This whale mug uses paper resist with sgraffito decoration with create the whales on a background of brushstrokes in a multiple of blues. As each is done by hand so they vary. But each has two whales with air bubbles swimming in a blue sea. The whale mug is finished with a blue glaze inside and above the decoration. As long as you are careful of the handle ( which is true of all mugs) they will be safe to use in a dishwasher. I make my picture mugs in small batches in my pottery in Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim.
